Well I am not sure about your experiences, I now for me it took me sometime to realise that I was piss poor typist.

But the scoop is, that in the old days of the Internet, we are talking NetScape 1.0., you had to exactly spell out the URL, to the letter, and not an iota more; unless you had the new broswers. Worse, in some case you had to know the 4 triple octal set of the IP address to make it work. For instance to get to main portal of Yahoo, you would have to type, 209.131.36.158 and you might even had to type in a password to log on. I Used to have to 'log on' by phone with the old, original I.S.P., who was an old buddy of mine. But to get anywhere, you had to pull up the windows terminal, add in the phone number of the connection point, and then type in the IP Address.

The when the browsers came out, they translated the coding into pictures and icons, and text, but you could download files, but you had to again, go to an F.T.P. Site and do a log in with the I.P. Address 209.131.36.158, you had to add a couple of commands, and then you did 'download' command using the forward and backward slashes. Ya, we had to engrave in stone and send it via the Oo Oo bird, cause it was that long ago.

But what it sounds like to me, what your experience is just piss poor connections, collisions on routers, and bots that are trying to grab anything they can, connections what ever. I have one URL that I swear if I could launch a missle at them I would have.

Mainly it sounds like bad routing, like the difference between driving in the city, and driving in the country. Lots more collisions, and lots more op for things to go wrong.

Yay, go in to the Hkey_local_machine Hive and rub out the update switch. Then Rip it out by the roots. Make sure to shut off the services in the control panel and deactivate the 'start on reboot' switch.
